The Augustinian Delegation in Korea Celebrates 40 Years

Fathers Joseph Farrell and Alexander Lam represented the Prior General at these celebratory events. The OSAAP meets to plan the roadmap towards Seoul 2027.

On April 25, the Order of Saint Augustine celebrated 40 years of presence in Korea. This celebration also marked the 25th anniversary of the profession of Tomás Aquino, one of the oldest friars in the Korean delegation, who belongs to the Province of Australasia.

Representing the General Curia were the General Vicar, Father Joseph Farrell, and Father Alexander Lam. Alongside them were the Provincial of Australasia and two other brothers, given the importance of the event. The delegation also included the Superior of the Japan delegation, the Provincial and Secretary of Villanova, and the Vicar of India.

Towards the 2027 World Youth Day and the Augustinian Youth Encounter in Korea

In the days prior to the celebrations, some of the priests who participated in the events of the delegation met with the other members of OSAAP (Asia-Pacific).

Some of them, such as the Provincials of the Philippines or Cebu, and the General Assistant, Father Tony Banks, joined by video call to coordinate immediate activities and explore collaboration projects, with their eyes set on the 2027 World Youth Day and the Augustinian Youth Encounter, which will take place in Seoul in 2027.
